Christian's Greenland National Costume
Today, Prince Christian was presented with the national costume of Greenland - his first - from anorak and pants to the special sealskin boots. The freebies were presented on the occasion of the first day of school for the prince tomorrow. He actually looks very cute!
Xian will not be attending Krebs' School as is the tradition for these royal boys, but instead of having to risk failure of an entrance exam, he will sponge off the public purse at a school in a district where his parents don't even live. Sluuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrppppppppppson heritage oblige! Perhaps his school is in the same area where Mary's post-divorce home is located? If Australia ends up being off-limits until the children reach a certain age, only Copenhagen's best richie-rich northern suburbs will do for Madame la Comtesse de Monpezat! Sluuuuuurrrpp!
The presentation and photo opportunity took place in Frederik's ground floor office at Amalienborg. Mary seems to be sucking in her gut the entire time and trying to control the left ankle twitch that gives away her discomfort. Why such formality of dress, Mary? She'll put divots in those bare wood floors with her stilettos.
Izzy looks smartly dressed for summer, but is subdued in the photo of Christian leaning in and grabbing the present. Poor girl may have a hard time understanding why her brother is treated with more special attention than she is. The day she can't take it anymore is the day she registers for Royal Dish and starts tweeting from @myfamilyisaf*ckingmess! At least Fred has a steady hand on her so that she doesn't launch into erratic, nervous, attention-getting behaviour in the presence of guests. Poor, darling Izzy!
