Celebrating Nikolai of Schackenborg On the Eve of His Confirmation: Big PR Push To Introduce Young Prince to His Co-Citizens (And Future Subjects?)

2011

Young handsome Prince Nikolai will be confirmed tomorrow in the royal chapel at Fredensborg Castle, his grandmum's pile in the country. He will be the only confirmand celebrated in a private ceremony. His confirmation class was confirmed a couple of Sundays ago, but because Nikolai is the oldest grandson of a reigning queen, he gets the royal treatment. Perhaps this is part of Daisy's way of continuing to introduce the kingdom to this very striking young man who seems to embody the best traits of both his father and his Uncle Derfie: a lean, regal carriage, carved facial features, and an impish spirit capped with dark hair. Best of all, he doesn't seem to struggle with darker demons and is musically inclined and multi-lingual in Danish, English and French, with probably a strong working knowledge of German and Swedish through both parents' families.

Saturday, 18 May should be marvelous. The royal chapel will be filled with friends (including the adorable bestie Bernadette from the documentary from Nikolai's 10th birthday?) and godparents, including HRH the Earl of Wessex to link the British royal family with this very capable and intelligent young man. Countess Alexandra will be present with her husband, and Daisy will appreciate that the loyal Alexandra is continuing to be a terrific foil for the Auntie Mary beast thinggie who plagues the family. Welcome to the body of Christ, Nikolai! Beware pressies from the gargoyle side of the family! They'll send you down the devil's path!

Sportif!: The Derf Man Goes Deep C Diving Again: The Reason Mary's Pounding Pints of Lager Until the Wee Hours? Happy Anniversary You Two Lovebirds!

Derfie jumps off of the Skeevy Dyke. Metaphor? Symbolism?

It's not news that Madam is a self-centred friend, not interested in the affairs, feelings or goings on of others. But Mary in a zombie state surrounded by her husband's friends' wives while throwing back a a few sherbets doesn't make the least bit of sense. Crikey, that's pure carbs! What was she thinking? Ah, until you see that perhaps her husband's latest adventures with a high profile 'deep c diving' activity might remind her of his wondering eye (and lost wedding ring) here nine years to the day of her wedding/jackpot. Gosh, Derf would rather be submerged into an underwater isolation tank than be king? Oy. Happy Anniversary, you two!

According to Se og Hør, Mary was out the other night boozing it up (the photos show her chugging pilsner from a large pint glass) with several 'girlfriends' (read: wives of Fred's friends). Now what could make MoreMore go from skinny style icon back to her bogan beer-chugging roots? A rewind of Derfie's old Miami adventures when he dropped his Greenlandic gold wedding ring at the bottom of the ocean (in a hotel room) off the coast of south Florida (in Miami Beach) only to be eaten (greased off his finger) and regurgitated (sold to a pawn shop in Little Havana) by a manatee (an hourly skank)? Mary, we thought you were made of stronger stuff than that! Cheers, Freddles!

Net Dive: The Crown Prince in Search of Old Wrecks

Not all ribbon cuttings must be equally exciting when you've done them customarily for so many years and know that you have to continue to do so until the day you die.

But today's ribbon cutting near the Lim Fjord is probably one of the more enjoyable for Crown Prince Frederik.

No stiff smiles and formal handshakes. Instead, it was a trained diver from the Navy frogman corps in his element and in high spirits who had taken off his crisp suit and tie for a while and instead jumped into a diving suit.

Wearing coveralls and making a splash without hesitation and with great enthusiasm into the icy Salling Sound outside of Glyngøre to inaugurate Europe's largest diving park Salling Aqua Park and afterwards cut a string of seaweed. The new dive park consists of a large, defined sea area with a lot of false wreckage on the ocean floor and a resource center.

"It was the dive. It went great. The Crown Prince is an accomplished diver, tells a terribly enthusiastic project manager for the brand new dive park, Jan Opstrup who even dived with him.

"Since I have been an instructor for 25 years, you can see when people know their stuff. And he does," he adds.

The occasion was the official opening Thursday, 16 May of Salling Aqua Park, Northern Europe's largest diving park where Crown Prince Frederik as part of the inauguration had agreed to explore the ocean floor, 20 metres where it was deepest, and look at old shipwrecks, war, a tank, a Swedish minesweeper, 4000 tons of granite and whatever else has been lowered into the depths. Here he spent 41 minutes before he came up again to sea level.

"The Crown Prince was excited and thought it was a great project. He was very positive and super thrilled," says a happy January Opstrup. The former Navy SEAL was wearing a brand new, custom designed wetsuit from the local store in Glyngøre, which afterwards he was allowed to keep as a gift for future royal diving trips.

Bien Jouée!: Marie's in the Shark Tank! Not a Metaphor For Yrma's House, Just an Official Visit: Phew!

Impressive, Marie. Don't try this at home, Mary!

Darling Marie was at the Kattegatcentret today to open their new exhibit "The Sea in Action". The Kattegatcentret is the new marine science centre and museum that Daisy and Henrik opened not long ago. Nice little tag-team action there with Daisy's favourite daughter-in-law Marie showing up to extend the royalest of the royal family's connections to this exciting new aquarium in Copenhagen. Marie got a chance to chat with some kiddos upon her arrival, to see the outdoor space with kayaking scientists and participate in some interactive kayaking of her own. An over-30 year old arse in tight khaki trousers is rarely a good thing, but Marie's workouts are paying off!

Interesting noting that even rose-coloured sugar press and pro-monarchy magazine Billed Bladet didn't put a particularly flattering photie of Marie on their webpage with a tiny article about her visit. It almost even looks as if she has Madam's presque-zizi! Considering how much love there is for la Belle Marie's flawless backside from the BT photographer, you wonder if BB's contract with Mary or Daisy's Grey Men hasn't quite yet expired. Perhaps an extension was in order so that Mary's fooled into falling further into the honey trap? Mwoah, Daisy!

Festive Reception for Princess Marie at Kattegat Centre in Grenaa.

There were no signs of hydrophobia with Princess Marie at the opening of a new exhibition in the Kattegat Centre in Grenaa.

The royal guest boldly sat up in a kayak model, where the sea was on a screen in front of her, and after a rowing trip she could hit dry ground in the country.

It was the princess's first visit to the centre, where Marie also came close to sharks and other sea creatures.

"The Sea in Action" is the new exhibition at Kattegatcentret as Marie today highlighted and, according to the centre's website, they promise a whole new experience for those who love to challenge both body and brain.

They picked the right princess!

FAIL: Nine Years of Princess Mary Excuses and Rose-Coloured Nonsense: C'mon Danish Press, Throw Freddles a Bone and Tell Some Troofs!

"Who said that? Well, it trapped me a prince, din it? Bitch!"

A little walk down memory lane on the 9th anniversary of one of the most devestating royal miscalculations in modern memory: the day Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, heir to Europe's longest running monarcy, married Taswegian hillbilly and bogan extraordinaire Mary 'Pony Club' 'Double Nose Job' 'Starmakers Bogan' 'Ute-Shaggin'' Donaldson and introduced, in a grand turn of irony given the lass's Aussie origins, one of the more resistant and persistant narcissistically attacking viruses into the grand tradition of noblesse oblige and droit du seigneur that has been recorded. And Australia still has the noive to restrict what is being imported after such a damaging export was released! Gud Bevare Danmark.

"Hi, Mary!"

"Hope you don't mind me upstaging you on your big day! I wasn't even trying!"

"What in the HELL did I get talked into?"

"Ay, lassie, four long years and you've nearly got the prize!"

"Focus, Mary! It's yours, babe! Eye on the prize! GRAB IT."

"Let's air out these big boys! How're'ya like them jools, Dais!"

"I hope he doesn't notice my lye-soaked hands and ears!"

"I got it! I got the ring! I'm a princess! I'm officially better'n youse!"

"Keep cool, girl. Celebrate later behind closed doors."

Shame. It looked a bit better on a real girl.

"Jackpot!"

"See you at the reception, Mary!"

"We really don't know what to do with each other do we? That's passive-aggressive love for ya!"

Aw. First fight!

"Let me just spew some lyrics from a Danish pop song and pretend they're what I wrote about you!"

"Giddy up!"
