RIP: When Whitney Met Frederik
The song "Didn't We Almost Have It All" comes to mind. Whitney Houston and Crown Prince Frederik met in 1988 at Valby Hall in Copenhagen when she was in town for a concert. Look how young and cute they are. As mentioned in BT, the 24-year-old pop princess met the Danish heir to the throne backstage:
The day's big pop idol was not just on the obligatory visits to Tivoli Gardens and Amalienborg - she was also allowed to see Crown Prince Frederik himself. The rumour is that the Crown Prince was to be in the audience at her concert, so she invited him backstage to meet him personally.
Together with four friends and two bodyguards, the 20-year-old crown prince was allowed an audience in Whitney's private dressing room at Valby Hall. A BT photographer and journalist was there and able to tell readers that Whitney bowed deeply to the prince, and her eye beamed with admiration for the distinguished visitors.
"I am honoured to meet you," said the pop princess, to which Frederick replied:
"Likewise."
After a short chat the doors were closed to the press, so the two eminences [sic] could talk privately.
Of course, all Mary will want to know is if they slept together.
