The American blog Go Fug Yourself has identified Crown Princess Mary of Denmark as one of the better guests at the Monaco wedding to fug. Fugly is a contraction of the term "f*cking ugly" and is used sarcastically by the site to comment on the general awful appearance of people who can afford to look much better: "Fugly is the New Pretty" is the site's logo.
They were kind in their choice of photo, in that this is one that seems to have been pre-Photoshopped and doesn't show the outline of Mary's undergarments or her clomping along in her tarts trotters. But the best part is the blurb next to Mary's photo where they imply Mary's bogan, fighter chick, Amber Petty-bitchslap associations dreaming up a scenario where "Maggie Gyllenhaal stars in the movie of their love story, and it ends with Mary getting a plate of flowers smashed into her head by a jealous fellow Aussie, and she turns it into this lovely hat."
I'm glad someone out there agrees this outfit is just plain awful. I never liked and to be honest, the more I see the more ugly it gets. Mary simply cannot pull off an outfit like this. This hat on Mary is worse than Beatrice's octopus hat at her cousin Will's wedding.
