Saturday, 14 January, actual day of ascension. The three Danish princesses, together with most of their children (only Princess Marie, Prince Nikolaos and his wife and Princess Alexia and her spouse were absent), visited the graves of their parents, King Frederik and Queen Ingrid. The graves of the former king and queen are interred outside of the cathedral walls, in a brick and iron enclosure to the side of the main entry facade of the church. A nice show of respect by the royal children to the man whose death signalled the beginning of Daisy's reign.
